Dedicated to Teaching Individuals to Swim Confidently
About us
Time for a Swim is a small family-run business that is dedicated to providing high quality swim lessons. We are classified as a boutique swim school, this means your experience is unique, in a small and private environment. We are a "learn to swim" only pool. We are not a public pool, or attached to a gymnasium. This ensures there are no distractions for our students.
The pool was built in 1974, however it has been constantly renovated to ensure it remains a high quality pool, and maintains it's reputation as a prominent swim school in the area.
The pool is 15m long and increases in depth gradually from approximately 1m to 1.8m. This allows for students to feel comfortable in the shallow end and gradually gain confidence in the deeper end from a young age. There are steps in the shallow end to ensure a safe entry. The pool is heated to 34 degrees to ensure comfort for all of our students all year round. This enables our pool area to stay warm when children exit the pool.
Our swim school is equipped with a female and a male changeroom, each with 2 toilets and a shower, however we encourage only rinsing in the showers in order to increase efficiency in the changerooms.
Fees
Fees are calculated each term and fees are payable at the start of each term. You are not charged if lessons are not available (eg: public holidays and term breaks).
We ask for a deposit at the end of a term to ensure that your place is held for the following term. This is so that we know you are returning. If you do not place a hold on your spot, we cannot ensure that it will be kept for you.
Being a small swim school, we do not do direct debit from your account. However we do accept cash, card, cheque or direct deposit into our account.
Make up Classes:
If a swimmer cannot make a lesson, they are entitled up to TWO make up classes per term IF they contact the Swim Centre BEFORE their class is due (by phone/answer machine available, or email). Make up classes must be taken within the same term - and subject to classes being available for the swimmers level and age. Please speak to our reception staff to arrange make up classes. Note: Make up classes cannot be carried forward to the following term, nor credit given for missed classes.
Policies
We require that all students (not including those in infant classes) wear a swimming cap. This is for health reasons and cannot be negotiated.
Goggles are not compulsory, but are advisable. Caps and goggles can be purchased at reception.
Infant students (under 3 years old) must wear "swim nappies" - NOT regular nappies.
