Water Splasher

With an adult, you can: 

  • Join in Hello song

  • Splash face wet

  • Show digging hands

  • Join in water games

  • Run/kick on front and back

  • Enjoy Humpty Dumpty 

  • Happily bob under water 

  • Crawl / walk off mat

Water Paddler

With an adult, you can: 

  • Put face in water and blow bubbles 

  • Kick on front with a board

  • Kick on back with a board 

  • Dog paddle a short distance 

  • Jump in confidently 

  • Climb out of the pool 

  • Monkey crawl along wall 

  • Free swim for 1 second 

  • Run and jump off mat

Water Tadpole

With an adult, you can: 

  • Demonstrate a Safe Entry

  • Blow bubbles with face submerged 

  • Show basic Rocket Entry

Tadpole Swimmer

You can now confidently:

  • Blow bubbles with all face submerged

  • Basic flutter kick with board and assistance

  • Dog paddle, blowing bubbles and kicking

  • Back paddle with floatation aids and assistance

Frog Swimmer

You can now confidently:

  • Show over arm action for Freestyle 

  • Show basic arm action for backstroke 

  • Swim underwater for 1-2 meters 

  • Pick up objects from bottom of pool

Dolphin Swimmer

You can now confidently:

  • Swim freestyle arms unaided for 3 meters

  • Torpedo on front streamlined

  • Float without a kick board

  • Pick up objects from bottom of pool

Shark Swimmer

You can now confidently:

  • Swim 3 meters on front and back

  • Torpedo on front and back streamlined

  • Show freestyle, backstroke and breaststroke arms

  • Begin freestyle breathing

D1

You can now confidently:

  • Swim 5 meters front and back

  • Freestyle breathe correctly

  • Demonstrate Survival Backstroke

  • Basic Diving

D2

You can now confidently:

  • Swim 2 laps using 2 recognisable strokes

  • Float with aid for 1 min

  • Show correct breaststroke leg kick

  • Begin butterfly arms

L1

You can now confidently:

  • Swim 1 lap without stopping

  • Float with aid for 30 secs

  • Show basic breaststroke leg kick

  • Be pulled to safety grasping a rescue aid

L2

You can now confidently:

  • Swim 2 laps on front and back without stopping

  • Show correct Breaststroke with correct timing

  • Survival Scull for 30 secs and float for 1 min

  • Pick up object from deep water

Star

You can now confidently:

  • Swim freestyle, backstroke, breaststroke, sidestroke and survival backstroke for at least 50 meters

  • Swim basic butterfly stroke

  • You are ready for squad training
